Oscars Coming up

I thought this board could use a new topic, and since the Oscars are coming up I thought I would ask everyone thoughts.

I can't say I have been happy with them the past few years. I mean Gladiator for best movie? Best cinematography yes, but movie? while the Patriot gets nothing?

And Shakespeare in Love beating Saving Private Ryan? Come on! Oooo Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet because he was in love, That's a cunning idea! <eyes role>

Anyways, this year I am waving the Moulin Rouge banner and hoping it beats the independents and Russell Crowes film (that guy really doesn't need more fuel for his big head) Although I am somewhat dispared since Baz Lurman didn't even get a best director nomination.
