Bignose part of your post is correct about the way the MM's play a stock, but as to the fact of never chasing a stock is in dispute. If you have a hard running momo play that is being pumped hard your theory is correct. On the other hand if you have a stock that is strong fundamently, in consolidation mode, or a techinical pull back that will begin to move up again based on t/a and fundamentals as long as the move is steady and not flying off the board then you will in fact miss alot of money if you decide to move to another stock.
