If the $10 million is for events that already transpired, as it sounds like it is, then it would be expensed immediately. On the other hand, if it includes a license for 2004, in addition to previous usage, then a portion would have to be expensed immediately (relating to previous usage) and a expense would have to be recorded each quarter relating to the on-going license.
