No, I just mentioned it for the headline- that DHS may be providing funds toward IT security companies- If I'M reading it right-

SCADA: Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition- is a software communications platform used in manufacturing, building controls, utilites (gas, electric), fire alarms, etc. U name it.

It's the stuff where a building owner can adjust temperature and humidity in his offices in N.Y., while he's in the Bahamas. A production line mgr. can check the condition of his machines or how many units they produced on his computer 1000 miles away. Supervisory means it alarms if there is a problem or if the communication goes out. Or something is not reading the way it should. Manuals on SCADA have been found in caves in Afghanistan.

I know since the power outage on the east coast last year, they've been talking about revamping the existing infrastructure, from power stations, transmission lines, bridges & roads, all kinds o' stuff.

That's why I was seeing if anyone could explain why Invensys was down- That conglomerate would be comparable to GE, Siemens, Honeywell, etc., in it's own right.

It used to be Siebe, and joined with some British Tire magnate in the 90's sometime. They acted like they were gonna take over the world.

Actually, I think BeeGee would know something about SCADA, I think he said he was in power production.
