PW...Sorry for the typo, although I myself don't usually 'read' typos as a sign of intelligence or ignorance, I'll try not to error again my reply as not to appear stupid.

A revolver is a handgun, which has a wheel like cylinder that holds and chambers (align & ready) the round to be fired. It puzzled me because a revolver is not easy to fire without it first being cocked (hammer being pulled all the way back) which requires a somewhat firm pull. IMO this would be a rather ignorant thing to do because it would be dangerous and the gun would quickly fill with debris which might impair it's functionality.

As in my last explanation, I don't really understand what the author meant by a revolver type gun, so I will the for sake of explanation assume the weapon to be a revolver. For this gun to fire, it would have to be cocked by either a full pull of the trigger if it was a double action, or cocked by pulling back the hammer and then pulling the trigger if a single action. A double action usually has a strong trigger pull of around 7-12 pounds although they do differ, and there are also custom 'trigger' jobs. A single action will usually have a trigger pull of about 2-7 pounds.

IMO, if the gun in question was a revolver, and his sitting on it fired it, it must have been a single action and was fully loaded with the hammer being down and on a live round. Any and most all single action shooters will have the hammer sitting on an empty chamber, to do otherwise is complete ignorance and extremely dangerous.

If I can be of further assistance, Please let me know.
