I am interested in discussions on strategy, also. Several years ago, I bought into the “buy and hold” mentality, and only stopped the craziness after losing several . . . . hundred . . .thousand. . . dollars since 2000. Sigh. I did bad, my financial group did bad, have complete control of all my money now, and can’t say I have done any better. I read somewhere about needing to make 10% on each trade. Would see my profit get to 5, 7, 9, 20% over several months, enjoying the ride, then drop down to 2% or even –4% in a matter of days. Frustrated. Let it drop to –12% or -15%, and I panic and sell. I've been good at buy high/sell low, an excellent record, probably need to learn how to short, cause I can sure pick em.... I recently had a revelation that will help me, will share it when we decide where to post this kind of stuff. Would love to have input on how to maximize my profits.
