Speaking of codes, they do show up in the volume box, usually at the start of the trading day. After a few hours, normal buying & selling of the stock will proceed.

I myself have seen 200 in the volume box on 2 securities, and the following day mergers were announced. Also 100 is seen in the volume box when the stock is not being bought or sold for days on end.
