Ok WNBD players, I will post the email I received from the CEO:

Hello Mr. XXXXXX,

Winning Brands is in the process of launching three eco-responsible products in the U.S. market. Pearson Distributing is in a leadership position of bringing these products to its customers ahead of others in the USA. To best serve the long term needs of U.S. consumers, Winning Brands has undertaken to manufacture most of the products in the USA. Pearson is awaiting initial output from our first U.S. production facility.

Coordination of the first large scale U.S. production run required us to address certain key variables for the first run in particular, involving a longer lead time than will be necessary in subsequent production runs. This included determination whether the labels will be applied on an “in-mold” basis or as traditional label on bottle method, final quantity commitments for minimum/maximum raw material inventory, determination of which specific sizes are best suited for the available U.S. high speed production equipment and testing of internal pre-production procedures. These factors added several weeks to the initial production dates. Production of these products will be more routine for us in April 2008 and beyond than it was in March 2008.

While it would have been preferable to have these issues finalized prior to receiving initial orders for the products, the timing of industry tradeshows is determined by the seasonal considerations of the organizers rather than the stage of planning that we were at. This is what caused the order taking process and production process to be out of sync by a few weeks. Had Winning Brands waited to notify the industry of the imminent availability of these products at the “next” cycle of tradeshows, we might have needed to wait an entire year for launch discussions. As it is now, we are bringing everything into alignment within a few weeks.

Thank you very much for your early interest in Winning Brands’ products, and by extension your own leadership in bringing these products to consumers. We very much appreciate the opportunity of working with Pearson Distributing and its customers.

We are deeply grateful for your understanding in this matter – and congratulate you for participating in the launch of eco-responsible products at a time when it is so meaningful for us all!

Sincerely,

Eric Lehner, CEO
