the storage part may benefit, but closer examination shows that public storgae is actually a Real Estate play(which is being devalued currently). Ya find a good corner lot, put storgae units on it in hopes somewhere down the road that piece of land will be worth a lot of money. Then bulldoze the storages and build on it or sell it, while the storage units are being rented you are taking in revenue, paying the taxes with it and providing some income for yourself.
