Glen - this is getting more into macro-economics and social engineering theory than what's going to happen on Monday, but I've got to comment in support of what you are saying.

Quoting a crazy genius, that "giant sucking sound" you hear are the dollars being torn from the little to the big - there has not been a redistribution of wealth like this in our lifetimes - the rail barrons come to mind as the nearest example.

What scares me more than anything is at some point, there is going to be "civil unrest" even here - and when the masses have had enough, there will be another redistribution - I just don't have a clue what the new system will look like.

For capitalism to work over extended periods, the inevitable tendency for the capitalists to "own it all" has to be countermanded by a re-distrubution, so the peasants have something to spend again.

That hasn't been happening, and there is a social spring being wound as tight as the springs we see in the market.
