Asia Global Holdings-owned producer Idea Asia, meanwhile, is set to make a Chinese version of Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) format Blackjack Bowling.

The show, already airing on Taiwan's Star TV, is marketed as "the only show of its kind that combines two of the world's favourite pastimes – blackjack and bowling – just as the two simple elements of the roulette wheel and hangman were combined to create Wheel of Fortune."

Dominique Ullmann, executive director of Idea Asia, said: "The significance of Blackjack Bowling should not be overlooked. It is a proven format among the Chinese population as the Taiwan adaptation is constantly the number one gameshow among all cable channels."

No broadcaster is yet attached to the Chinese production.
