The Marines will retake the city, whatever that means in a guerilla war. The question is not whether the Marines can "take territory", it's whether they can hold it. And in a city like Falluja, they can only hold it if they're willing to take heavy casualties. Sitting ducks, so to speak.
Not that they aren't already sitting ducks. Last month, 51 US soldiers died, the second-highest tally since Bush declared "mission accomplished".
