Al-Qaeda's so-called finance official arrested near Kirkuk

Security forces arrested a gunman said to be the finance official of the al-Qaeda network southwest of Kirkuk city on Sunday, a security source said.
"An Iraqi army force conducted a security operation in a village southwest of Kirkuk, resulting in the arrest of a gunman," the source, who did not want to be named, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).
According to the source, the gunman was a "financial official for al-Qaeda Organization in southwest of Kirkuk. He confessed during initial investigations that he was involved in several armed attacks against security forces and civilians."
Kirkuk, a potpourri of religious and ethnic population of Kurds, Shiites, Sunnis, Assyrians, and Tucomans, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
