Nice points, blacktruck. I have never said the Beer Factor made a person a good president. I've only said it's what decides the US presidential election.

When I had an anatomy class in high school the teacher would often get off on tangents. One time he mentioned he thought it might be time for us to have a "kind dictatorship".

I've always kept that in the back of my mind, and then have trouble recalling ever having seen such a thing.

I think he was actually wanting an idealistic person who could cut through special interests, politics, and ideology and do the greatest good in a statesmanlike manner.

Kind dictatorship seems to me like a recipe for anarchy when you think about it.

FWIW, I still believe Obama will be the next president, and he will be a 1-term president. I am projecting the next president in 2013 will be a Republican and will serve for two terms. It's the business cycle and boomer politics.

That said, I have no idea who will be the Rep nominee in 2012.
