Bloomberg News
1 April 2004
The New York Times

Gateway, a personal computer maker that has lost $1.84 billion in the last three years, will move its headquarters to Orange County, Calif., after buying eMachines. The company, based in Poway, a San Diego suburb, will pick a location within two weeks and may move as early as July, a spokesman, Robert Sherbin, said. The Los Angeles Times reported the move yesterday. Gateway this month purchased eMachines, based in Irvine, Calif. Gateway moved from South Dakota in 1998 to San Diego and in 2001 moved to its Poway headquarters.
