Good post tenac,

One other very important factor in the completion of the resurrection is, Jesus proclaiming to his disciples at the Last Supper that he was going to go away. That the comforter might come(Holy Spirit). They seem to be more concerned about him leaving, as to how they could exist without him, he pointed out to them very clearly "if I do not go He cannot come" yet none of you asked me where I go, you are just more concerned about me being gone.

They were looking at it from the end of the story, the finality of their relationship with him personally. But in actuality it was the completion that made way for the next phase of God's incredible plan. After they had seen Jesus in the flesh, Thomas having touched his hands, Peter meeting him on the beach and they knew for sure he was alive after many other things he ascended, as the disciples watched him there were two men dressed in white who commented to the disciples why do you stand here looking up for the way that he is going is the way he will be coming back(I think the short version is time to get going.)

When they found themselves in the upper room they were numbered 120 trying to figure out what they were supposed to do (they even cast lots to see who is to take Judas' place, LOL) we know God had other plans, and Paul the apostle was to take Judas' place, but he wasn't even saved yet.

Anyway Jesus made way for our sins to be redeemed, as though they had never happened, cast as far as the east is from the west, he paid in full the debt we owed and we are now free should we choose freedom (the death and resurrection of Christ) but the defibrillator of our life in Christ, or that that brings us to life in Christ, is the person of the Holy Spirit the third-party of the Trinity. Paul said "so you know the Lord Jesus, so do all the demons and they tremble at his Name" so the Holy Spirit factor is as equally important as the resurrection and reconciling the gift of life given to us freely.
[All of this is found in the dialogue during the Last Supper] and in the first part of the book of acts(Luke wrote it)
He is called comforter, not warrior, intercessor, accuser. He will tell us of things to come from the throne room of God. He is the unveiler of the truth of God. There is no human authority nor philosophy nor discipline nor any other actions other than the receiving of the Holy Spirit. Jesus died a horrible death of crucifixion, humiliation, accusation and public scourging, died and on the third day rose again from the dead and has paid off the mortgage of our sin completely and unconditionally. When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we are comforted (because times are painful) we are told of things to come (that our faith may be strengthened) and we edify the body of Christ(because it's hard for us to get along) so I very much agree with you that the death and resurrection of our living Lord is very pertinent to our own salvation and as much so the baptism of the Holy Spirit that we might walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh (religious and controlling ways) Great post love you much. Val smile
