lango, sigh.........

I'm not trying to suggest that Apple is immune just that the enormous difference in store patronage in downtown San Francisco at lunchtime was remarkable.

When I worked around Union Square we would all scurry out to get in line somewhere to get lunch and/or try to pick up something at one of the many stores in the area, pushing our way through crowded streets.

Yesterday, it was a glorious sunny, warm day, at noon. Walking down the street was a breeze, didn't have to wait behind masses of people waiting at the corners to cross the street because they are unfamiliar with San Franciscan's habit of crossing when there is no traffic. I was the ONLY customer in sight on the first floor of Barney's, one of a hand full at NM and one of maybe 60-70 in the Apple Store a half a block away. Even Macy's had more sales people in evidence than customers.

Maybe that means nothing to you but it speaks volumes to me.
