National Security Political Council Holds Meeting

Headed by President Jalal Talabani, and in the presence of vices-president Tariq al-Hashimi and Adil Abdul Mahdi, PM Nouri al-Maliki, Parliament speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Deputy PM Barham Salih, representative of Kurdistan Region President Roj Nouri Shawis and political blocs representatives, the National Security Political Council held a meeting at President Talabani’s private office in Baghdad yesterday.
The meeting discussed in details the subject of reshuffle the cabinet, the general situation in the country and solving the problems and challenges that face the political process.
On the other hand, discussions were made about the long range period strategic agreement between Iraq and U.S. which concerns Iraq’s future.
The meeting emphasized on the participation of a large number of political blocs in this decision, as well as experts, lawmakers, military and security figures in discussing this important issue.
