Elder....many older folks (perhaps even a majority) have two strong motivations. One is a desire to NOT be a financial burden on their children and the other is to leave a financial legacy for their children in order that they might have a higher degree of comfort than the parent did. These two desires make them targets for scamsters who play on those emotions. When you add the "sincerety" of the scamster and his "Christianity" and prayers, etc., you have a combo that non-Warren Buffett elderly have difficulty resisting. Yes, they made a foolish move and yes, it is not smart investing. That "fault" of theirs doesn't give any scamster the right to take advantage of them and have the blame placed on the victim.
