Circuit City to Buy Canada's InterTan

"7:25AM Circuit City acquires InterTAN and MusicNow; names new chief marketing officer (CC) 10.70: Co has agreed to acquire InterTAN (ITN 12.25) for $14 per share in cash. InterTAN operates through more than 980 retail stores and dealer outlets in Canada under RadioShack, Rogers Plus and Battery Plus.... Co also agrees to purchase MusicNow, a digital music platform. Circuit City will integrate MusicNow's platform into Circuit City's Web site and in its stores.... Co also says Ernest V. Speranza has been hired as senior VP and chief marketing officer, after nearly 20 years at Toys "R" Us."
