I read where Mr. Lango commented on my posting frequency

I dunno how many ways I can say I am long AAPL and gold miners smile.

I do know that I wrote that I thought we would see an accelerating growth curve with the Mac. That will likely be moderated by economic trends, but I think that story is intact.

My last buy was Jan 2010 $160 LEAPS. Stock portfolio is pretty much locked in for the next period of time. Fund portfolio is heavy large cap growth and I doubled our monthly contribution to it in mid January. No plans to change that.

I figure I won't need to withdraw that money for a long, long time. The money I will need is in a pot (aka Individual Account Plan) that my employer contributes an amount equal to 6% of my salary to and is managed by the Oregon Investment Council (OIC) - the same entity that manages the Public Employees Retirement Fund multi-billion dollar pot.

That 6% is in addition to the traditional defined benefits pension that I will start drawing in three years, if I choose to retire at 60, something that seems increasingly likely - contingent on research progress in Ms. Roni's genetic, degenerative retinal disorder that will lead to legal blindness in about a decade according to her retinal electro-physiologist.

So, the long and the short of it is that we'll be in warm and sunny tropical climes in ~ 3 to 3.5 years, subsidize that for 3 years with proceeds from the IAP.

We'll see what happens with gold. I have moved most of that money into an index-based ETF, GDX, to save time on individual company DD and monitoring. Still hold a couple of individual stocks, but spending far less time on things market-related these days.

That's a wrap for now. AAPL and GDX, mostly in IRAs. Long large cap growth in 457 plan fund portfolio. Another pot managed by OIC.

We're doing fine. The G5 iMac is still doing fine. The iPhone is still doing fine and I continue to be enthralled by the ability to surf the web whilst in the doctor's waiting room instead of looking through old magazines :). Kathy's old iPod Mini is still doing fine.

Hope ya'll are doing well also.

Peace out smile gotta go get ready to do my educational public service gig.
