ZPH....

Level 2 trading: Most all brokerage houses offer level 2 trading....it is absolutely necessary for the day trader...I need dynamic real time quotes on many stocks throughout the trading session along with multiple Real time charts,Time & Sales, all Market Maker Bids/Asks w/volume sizes,etc....I use Power Etrade...

Here is a link for info:

https://us.etrade.com/e/t/invest

I use 3 - 17 inch Flat panel monitors on my Level 2 Etrade (desk space is very important).....I also have 2 other workstations with multiple monitors for other types of tracking applications....usually I just use 2 workstations...the second workstation is set up to scan several news wires and alert me when news breaks on specified stocks....Etrade provides news alerts but I found a way to route many wires off the same software program...but when things get real active I sometimes go to 3 workstations...to get multiple monitors on the same p.c. you need a video card that can support it...I use Matrox Parhelia 256 meg cards...I also use a hardwire router so I can share everything off of 1 tcp/ip address....

As far as reading material...there is too much out there to pick from....you need to dedicate as much time as you can to learn....I have been trading for over 10 years now and probably average at least 60 hours a week at present....when I was hungry to learn I invested about 80 hours a week plus for the first 5 years or so.....you will only get out of it what you put into it...that is knowledge wise.....

Good Luck!
