I see the problem here jb. You have taken the 'head in the sand' approach that so many of us took when the scarlet flags were flying more than a year ago.
You will find out, as we did, that that posture leaves you in a very vulnerable position.
The other problem I see is that rather than talk to these people that might help you discover the true story, you fall back on silly responses that it's someone else's job to provide you proof.
You don't seem to have a problem with Red saying that the auditor 'fully expects' to continue the audit when the investigation is over; a point that he could not possible know since it depends on the company providing the information.
Surely you know by now that there is no business to audit.
If you don't have instincts, get out. If you do, go with them.
