News is actually good. It is a well used PR ploy to make a claim of an endorsement only to state the the endorsement does not exist but the basis for such an endorsement exists. Very smart by Steve if it was planned. You essentially are saying that the product deserves to be endorsed but isn't and you get to say it twice!
