In your face Raytec!

Tackler, I think you already understand this, but to be sure, the Google ranking will be bolstered to the extent that there are more EXTERNAL references to the site, generated by news, partners, suppliers, articles, etc. Potash One is not likely to ever come out on top of the likes of POT or AGU, but the first page is a pretty reasonable goal (even for such a simple one word search) given the few players in this market.

That said, I took a closer look and Potash One's site is REALLY, REALLY bad news in terms of Google ranking. The whole site and most importantly the home page is .ASP, and this has historically been bad news for search engines (but I didn't think it was necessarily this bad anymore). I performed one of my classic experiments to prove what I suspected. Google "Potash One" with or without the quotes to see something really ridiculous. Site is nowhere to be found. Here's another classic test: copy a whole sentence or paragraph verbatim from the site into a Google search. I tried several and it still doesn't find the site at all. That's a sure sign the content is simply not being spidered at all.

Yes, I do have a little bit of experience here. It may not just be the .ASP technology, but could be due to specific design approach -- frames are another likely culprit. I don't know if they monitor this board, but this should be brought to their attention. Someone (probably a contractor) is completely asleep at the switch here, and there is obviously no one in marketing paying any attention.
