I think it is because people are shopping the basics. Produce, meat dept., dairy. They are not paying for someone to slice their meat for them. Also, in the last 1.5 yrs. Fry's and Bashas has put in 3 new stores in a six mile radius. It was a "positioning for growth strategy". Whoops!
