Geotec is an emerging oil and gas well treatment company and is transitioning from being a development company to being an operating company.
On Dec. 5, 2000, Geotec Thermal Generators, Inc. presented case studies of its technology, and presented the criteria for successful use of its technology in different formations and well fields at the Central Gulf States Regional Meeting of the Petroleum Technology Transfer Counsel. The meeting was held at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette, Louisiana. (Funded by the Department of Energy). The presentation is posted on their website. Both the publication and PowerPoint presentation are being forwarded to the Washington, D.C. office of the PTTC and will be redistributed to all of the regional offices of the PTTC across the United States and their members. It is all working; Geotec just needs the time to make this work. Remember this is the first time Geotec made a formal presentation. Well operators care about the percentage increase after treatment. Why? Because the increases that most technologies get now, average at 30-50%. This was definitely recognized by the people in Lafayette. Look at slide 44 of the PowerPoint presentation on their website. It shows increases of 300% to 2600% after treatment. Look at what Geotec started with---15 wells were shut-in for 4-15 years. No one does that. For the 15 wells that were shut in for 4-15 years, Geotec took the pre-shut-in production to calculate the percentage increase, since any increase from zero, in percentages, would be zero mathematically.

Geotec is at the point where things can begin to happen. (1) PTTC meeting completed and information will get out to people in the oil patch (2) Should have a press release soon (3) Phase 2 of technology transfer should be completed in 1Q of 2001 (4) After phase 2, well treatments should move forward (5) Geotec has announced contracts in the past, and it can be assumed that during these past few months more contracts have been signed and not announced. Why announce when you cannot deliver on the contracts till the technology transfer is complete. I would expect more contract announcements.
