Try Start button/Control Panel/Audio Devices.

Make sure it's not muted and it is turned up. Then click advanced and look at those settings. Make sure none of those settings are muted.

If you still have trouble go to the Computer Learning board and ask for help. Lots of good tech people monitor that board.
