Darn good question. I am pretty sure that AMD has stated that cHTT is limited to 8 cpus. Now that limit might have been raised with gigabit HTT. Or maybe dual core...

Nah, those wouldn't do it. To go to 16 CPUs would take some major changes to the cache coherency protocol. Maybe 90nm has some more surprises than a simple shrink?
