extelecom -- sorry, was just being a smartazz with that one -- and you're right, climate is inherently a moving target -- nobody credible at least is claiming to have IT ALL figured out, we're making some pretty good progress on some basics but we're nowhere near that -- heck, we're just now getting to the point where we even have the actual computing power to even begin to really try to run proposed models of the whole system, meaning not just the entire earth but also the sun -- and then there's the ongoing quest to define, instument and gather sufficient data from the system -- which as we gather more and more data swamps the supercomputers yet further as they try to backsolve new and generally ever-more-complex tries at models -- . . .
