fazoolius -- if the sun does enter a prolonged period of relatively minimal activity and thus significantly lower energy radiated, that cooling signal very well could end up overwhelming the warming signal being caused by anthropogenic CO2 -- but not necessarily, especially if for example (as has begun to occur) warming leads to significant releases of methane, a vastly more powerful global warming gas than CO2 (gigatons of it are/have been locked up, largely as methane hydrates, in frozen tundra, and on cold ocean floors where at least in places even a degree ot two rise in the ocean temp could result in truly colossal releases of methane as a gas which would end up in the atmosphere) -- and I confess to not having taken a fresh look at this part right now, but I thought I understood many in the field are expecting the new solar cycle just officially begun to be very active -- including unprecedented warnings of the potential of severe impacts from extreme CMEs anticipated over the next few years

and in any event we could see significant negative impacts from further warming before such a cooling signal took over -- we could end up getting it in both ends, as it were

oh, and note to IBD -- Al Gore's 'consensus', that whatever else may be going on anthropogenic CO2 is causing warming, is not 'mythical' -- . . .
