AMD Acquisition of Alchemy Semiconductor

AMD has had two products, PC compatible microprocessors and Flash memory. Everything else they made was supporting infrastructure for these two lines.

The microcontrollers of Alchemy represent a distinct and new product line. I wonder if this is just the first of a series of aquisitions.
