Adobe's got tons of...stuff. And a lot of that stuff is programmers and doesn't Jobs always insist that -- fundamentally -- Apple is a software company?

Adobe has acquired a few things on its own of late which will be coming down the pipeline. The premium version of Photoshop CS3 (or whatever it's called nowadays) has a medical/scientific orientation at the upper end.

Print, graphics, web design, you name it -- they're all over multimedia software which they make in both Mac and PC versions.

Not by any means saying Apple should -- or could -- do it, but it's a lot more interesting to think about than a lot of other things that get floated out there.
