IMO, a LOP would harm their economy because it would scare away some badly needed foreign investment.

My own preference, which I don't see talked about too much here, is to do neither a LOP nor a reval. Instead a decade-long program to rebuild the economy and reduce outstanding monetary supply by slowly buying back currency and destroying it.

This approach would be more stable, more development and investor friendly and, frankly, I don't see the downside.
