Thread, is there any substance to the notion that Intel introduced their model number scheme because AMD is about to dust their Ghz rating because Prescott won't get to 4Ghz any time soon? Basically, if AMD has a 4000+ part this year and Prescott is stuck at 3.4-3.6Ghz it will look pretty bad. So instead of suffering this embarassment, Intel changes the playing field by not offering the Press and review sites any way of consistently comparing Intel's cpus against AMD's cpus.
