Hey Thrifty. I then wondered if music was a gift. Later when I moved away I heard my new preacher say that we have gifts and talents. Gifts were from the Lord. Talents were different. Talents were not gifts per say. For instance he said, musical abilities were talents. I agree. (A non believer could jam with a Christian band really easy if it was their type of music and that's what they felt like doing for a living)

Interesting story you two rebels. LOL! Church needs laughter indeed. My old Pastor was great at it. Lot of times the laughter was directed at him. I miss him. He could really pound the message home. He preached the WHOLE gospel!

OK now about the above I'm not really sure I agree with that. What about those kids who can play the piano like professionals at 4 years old? To me that's a gift.

I remember this black lady who brought me to tears when she sang Oh Happy Day. She had a gift imo. I remember telling her when she came to my ministry booth later that I thought God gave her the voice of an Angel. Plus when she sang it seemed like from the heart not a show. At the time i was going to a very large church and lets just say I missed the little church then when it came to worship or separate singing.

I don't know.
It may be I'm confused on the definition of talent or a gift?

I think I could argue both sides of a Thousand dollar bill and so if someone will just send me one I promise a great debate for both a talent and a gift! LOL!

Forget both sides of a coin think BIG! LOL!
