You're piling assumptions on top of assumptions.

You assume the reported cache sizes are accurate (they're not).
You assume that you know more than Intel architects (you don't).
You assume that analyzing the high-level, complex, qualitative relationship between frequency, power, and future scaling is a comparable problem to the easily simulated, quantitive problem of a cache hierarchy's affect on performance (it's not).

I'll give you that the screenshot capture raises interesting questions about Nehalem, but since the intro is still at least 6-9 months out, the only prudent thing to do is make note of them, and wait and see to find out what the truth is. Any further alarmist prognostications is the height of arrogance, and thoroughly trollish behavior...
