I think, from what I see, that is where we are today. I do not see many "CHRISTIAN" leaders standing up and speaking out against anything that may negatively affect monetary income. Don't want to go against the "mass" public opinion. Most bible leaders try to sell you items or articles they claim have religious significance that will bring hope, wealth, health or prosperity to the buyer when if fact the sale only strengthens the wallet of the seller.
That being said, the bible clearly states that as we approach His return all these things and more will be seen by the true believers and we should prepare ourselves for them.
1 Timothy 6: 9-11
2 Timothy 3: 1-5

Make no mistake about it, JESUS WILL RETURN., and this earth and this universe will be under HIS rule. AMEN

About the woman found guilty of adultery, I remember reading somewhere that another reason Jesus hesitated was that you cannot commit adultery alone. Where was the second individual and why was he not brought forward also? Something about a half truth, a lie; "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." John 8: 1-11
