Petz, Isn't true thread level parallelism almost the same thing as SMP? What's the distinction?

TLP is the characteristic in the application workload to be taken advantage of. SMP, multithreading, and multi-core are different ways to take advantage of TLP. Without TLP, all of these ways are useless in increasing overall performance.
