Tex: no, we will NOT be shipping mac systems to clients... at least not in any foreseeable future... remember we have to sell these systems and much of our client base still suffers from MSFT delusions...

We actually get customers who demand extremely complex documentation and then stipulate it all be done using Word files (as well as .dwg files of course) because they don't want to have to rely on having people who know any pagination software and want the engineers, etc. to be able to open our source/native files if they feel like it.

Yikes! That is very scary.

Not to mention that Word is the worlds worst tool for publishing long complex documents... and yet, that is the Hell I endure every day at work...

I used to love Word 5.1a -- maybe the most perfect word processor ever... but let's face it, word processors are crappy tools when it comes to publishing, especially technical publishing... now I remind people every day how much it costs us in terms of lost productivity, etc. because we are required to use Word to create paper and digital deliverables.

Maybe at some point down the road, we'll be able to include a mac option in our proposals and see how the fish bite... but I ain't gonna hold my breath...

Jim
