Many cities across the country are enforcing a new law that bans cell phone use in school zones and can result in a hefty fine if violated. The world doesn’t stop spinning during school hours, and many people find it necessary to communicate while driving. For them, USTelematics, Inc. (OTCBB: UTLM) has designed Vivee.
The software can be downloaded onto any Windows desktop or Windows mobile device, and the company is working to expand capabilities to other devices such as the iPhone. The online service features an animated character that “speaks” the users’ incoming e-mail or text messages, allowing them to receive messages without taking their eyes off the road.
USTelematics’ online store offers Vivee software for existing devices, as well as new devices that support the Vivee service such as a multipurpose Windows Mobile OS PocketPC, and are equipped with a built-in global positioning satellite (GPS) system.
One of many other USTelematics’ products is Vivee2go, a handheld device manufactured by Hewlet-Packard. The small device retrieves and plays e-mails and texts through an internal Wi-Fi connection that allows for Web connection anywhere on the road. The GPS navigation system is equipped with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and entertainment options.
