Apart of a general very strong move in all basic materials, I don't know of anything specific that singles silver for a more bullish stance than others. If at the same time you got into aluminum or copper or for that matter, my then preferred vehicles Pd ($166 now at $270)and Rh ($440 now $740 #msg-1230445), you would have done as well if not a little better than silver (when I made that comment silver was in the $5 to $5.30 range for few months). I believe that there is ample capacity of silver mines that have been closed down and at current prices would be quite economical to reopen. I also do not see a major industrial for silver developing since paper photography growth is almost nil if not declining. Buffet is rumored to think differently though, some people claim he is back buying the stuff. Silver stayed "sterile" after that post for a solid 5/6 months, it did not cross $5.5 until about mid December. In that period ((July to December last year) equities of various kind surely were much less "sterile".
