maybe the charts would suggest a screaming buy but AMD...

I don't know what these posters are talking about. The AMD chart I am looking at is bearish. AMD is in a nearly 2 year downtrend channel. Just line up the higher highs since early 2006 to the present and do the same with the lower lows. You get a nearly perfect, parallel, DOWN channel. The fact that AMD could not break through $7.75 or so (the near term higher high) and reversed is "evidence" that it is continueing its downward gyrations in this channel. Next stop: approaches $5.50
