More delays = They're really trying to put a nail in a coffin and want to cover all possible bases (i.e. serious investigations going on) IMO.

If they were just going to dismiss this, then I believe they would have let it go by now instead of continuing. More continuations = "Luuuuuucy, you have some splaining to do!"
