plugger I can understand your frustration,

but why should my church be taxed because let's say your church has poor fiscal accountability problems. It's up to us as the congregation to keep our church "stewardship" concerning financial matters in check.

The Catholic church is a whole different ball game than Protestants. If I remember right all the contributions given in the U.S. churches than go to New Orleans. From there they go to the Vatican. Then if the church needs some big bucks for something they have to go through the proper channels to receive money back from the Vatican for their aid, if I remember right. That is a world wide church that is very well organized and has been around for just about forever. LOL on the "forever" statement.

No plugger I am dead set against taxing churches. I do not want the gov. telling us what we can or cannot spend our money on. Keep them out of our money!

Sure getting tax exempt status is bogus. imho. I've looked into it and had it all set up once for my womens missionary group. I was shocked at what I learned. My con mind went wild. LOL

Money = Power I once was told. Perhaps this is why the Catholic church doesn't cut loose. Don't get me wrong. They do help the needy etc. They are good people as far as helping. It's the headquarters. Everything in that church has to go through the Vatican. Laws, money, changes in policies, as it's up to the Pope. He has the Cardinals which tell the Bishops which tell the Monsignors and Priest, but guess what no one is going to tell the Pope how to run their money. No way... no how ...I say...It isn't happening, imho and for sure not on a global scale. :) Now I'm rambling. Keep the gov. nose out of churches. They can't even manage their own money. Look at the deficit. sheesh

Now I'm just thinking out loud and rambling like tenac. LOL
