But the company is really a play on 3G GSM [global system for mobile communications] phones. About 1.2 billion cellphones are shipped per year. About 200 million are CDMA [code-division multiple access] and a billion are GSM. All of Qualcomm's products have gone into the CDMA and WCDMA [wideband CDMA] market."
