With regard to what you said...You are correct!

"There should be a line out the door of Dr Moro's office, news reporters everywhere tracking the progress on this, and Dr Moro should be a rock star right now."

I have a feeling that this is what Dr. Moro is temporarily trying to avoid.

When the crowds show up, you no longer have peace of mind or available time to complete your work. There will be plenty of time for fame and fortune in due time.

Dr. Moro is letting Abbott & Inverness complete the 1st stage of work while he goes onto stages 2 /3. IMO they do not want the knocks on the door right now.
