I read that Intel has the larges Venture Capital outfit around. Intel Board believes that they have people who can identify promising technologies because they have cutting edge knowledge in many areas of engineering. In reality Intel Engineers are super specialists who are asked to evaluate the potential of other super specialists, when in reality there is insufficient overlap between the two super specialties. Intel proved to have a poor record as venture capitalist.
