I don't know if Chavez's real intension is to be the champion of the people. I know that there is a lot of wealth involved and a lot of people will lose out if Chavez has his way. Hence, the strong oppositions. How do you expect anyone to yield good economic numbers with such strong oppositions. The question is if Chavez were to step down, would any in the opposition attempt to reform the country with a more equitable distribution of wealth.
