>A war is brewing in Venezula.

You mean Chávez has been brewing a war. The people have been brewing a referendum Chávez does not want.

>Ever since the coup,

Long before that, Chávez has been threatening saying that "his revolution is armed" even though he was not elected for any revolution or to use weapons against his own people.

>The Chavez government has become paranoid

Not really. Chávez has a clear plan: a stalinist revolution with the support of Fidel Castro, his most admired leader (his own words)

>and the country has not (probably could not) been governed in a dignified manner.

Chávez does not govern, he oppresses.

>I also don't think, the anti Chavez side is innocent either.

90% of Venezuelans are agaist Chávez and they only want the chance to show it in the ballot boxes. Chávez doesn't want a count.

>They have been undermining the Chavez government since the start and prompted Chavez into taking extreme measures.

Chávez has been undermining democracry and his own Constitution from the begining. When the people has opposed him peacefully he has responded with death, torture, and human right violations.

>Lets just hope they resolve their conflict peacefully and soon.
This week, evidence is mounting that Chávez will not allow the referendum. Signatures were colected in November.... They are still counting them. Does that sound like a democracy to you?
